What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking? 

I grew up making cookies and meals with my mother and grandmother. With all that time in the kitchen, I grew into wanting to learn more about the entire field and gain experiences.

Describe the moment when you decided that you wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.

I was making cookies and cupcakes for my friends in middle school and I was getting a lot of compliments on my baking. I then decided to jump into the field.

What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to pursue your career in the culinary field? 

Having the money for culinary school was a big challenge. I got finical aid but I will still be paying for years for this degree and a chance to do what I love.

How have friends and family reacted to your career choice?

All of them were proud of me and of course have asked for a family discount when I run my own place.

What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?

I like the freedom of being able to experiment with different flavors and cultures.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

I grew up eating chili and beef stew on cold days

What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?

My favorite thing about working at Snapchef is that I get to work with a lot of interesting people. I also like being able to get to know about how different companies and kitchens operate.

What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?

Jump into it with both feet. If you don’t then you won’t be able to fully enjoy the ups and downs of the field.

What are some of your other hobbies outside of cooking?

Besides baking, I love photography, watching movies, reading, and looking into other cultures’ food.
