HOLIDAYS ARE A SPECIAL TIME OF GIVING AND SHARING!

Snapchef’s founders, Todd and Daniela Snopkowski, have always searched for win-win relationships: beneficial collaborations for the community, for Snapchef employees, for the food service industry, and for Snapchef as a company.

In the 15 plus years of Snapchef’s existence, clients have come to trust that we do whatever it takes to deliver the support they need to run their businesses. Currently, accounts for Snapchef total in the hundreds across five states.

Thousands of community members have received work and embraced a career in food service. Our exploration of training methods geared to an “earn and learn” apprentice style has borne much fruit and made Snapchef the go-to for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Economic Development.

Working with dozens of non-profit agencies as well as all levels of government and industry partners, Snapchef continues to grow in economic and social impact.

APPRENTICES DETERMINED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THEMSELVES, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITY

Our name, Snapchef Culinary Training and Staffing, is not an accident! Training has always been at the forefront of our mission.

Our offices each include a kitchen training center which currently has two levels of culinary outcomes. First is our Five Day “boot camp” where we prepare students to enter and assist our clients’ facilities. Our vision is that the “real” training happens “on the job”. We carefully monitor each student’s progress through feedback from over 500 of our client accounts. This process has proven to be a gateway into professional kitchens of all levels for our employees.

Second, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Apprenticeship Training which dates all the way back to 1771. With college out of reach for many, these programs offer a practical pathway into the food industry, and Snapchef is at the forefront of applying Apprenticeship Standards to the culinary trade. Graduates are sure to be working!

GREATER BOSTON FOOD BANK AND SNAPCHEF PARTNER TO ADDRESS FOOD INSECURITY AND HUNGER

Years ago, Snapchef started the Snapchef Foundation with a mission to spread culinary knowledge and experience that would help community members make nutritious and healthy food for themselves and families.

The Snapchef offices are all equipped with full training kitchens to make training programs an integral part of what we do. Our trainees all have worked in the community for programs that benefit the community. With four training centers, the job-creating community and culinary education has been exponentially growing. And this all started 15 years ago with a dream, a chef coat, and a kitchen knife!

The Greater Boston Food Bank story also started with one person with a vision to make a real difference in people’s lives. During the Great Depression, Kip Tiernan’s grandmother opened her kitchen to feed people in need. Kip saw firsthand how simple acts of kindness could help people through dark times. In 1974, Kip started to distribute food from her station wagon to those in need and later founded what we now recognize as The Greater Boston Food Bank. This organization has grown into the leading hunger-relief agency in New England and one of the largest in the country, serving over 60.7 million pounds of healthy food each year and feeding more than 142,000 people each month.

Snapchef, with its own unique business model, is proud and gratified to work with the Greater Boston Food Bank to reach more people and cook up change!
