What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking?

When my kids were first born, I decided to be a stay at home father. This is what made me realize my love for cooking. I had the time to be in the kitchen experimenting with food and I loved it.

Describe the moment when you decided that you wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.

Being a stay at home dad started the spark in my interest, then I found Snapchef. This is where my interest grew into a career in the culinary industry. The managers believed in me and gave me the opportunity to grow and learn with working for the company. 

What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to pursue your career in the culinary field?

I think the biggest challenge I have faced since working here has been all of the different personalities I encounter. But that can also be a positive as well, meeting different faces every week and learning from so many people.

How have friends and family reacted to your career choice?

My kids love it and are proud to see me grow my abilities every day. They remember how much joy it brought me to cook for them and are happy I get to share it with others now.

What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?

I get a lot of satisfaction from working in all of these different professional kitchens. I like to be able to help others and being told I am doing a good job. It’s the best feeling when I get requested back to an account because I did a great job.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

My favorite food, hands down, would have to be meatloaf. I love to learn and experiment with different ways to make it. Additionally, my kids love it.

What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?

My favorite thing about working with Snapchef is all the great opportunities I’ve experienced in all of the different kitchens we work at. I’ve had the chance with them to also travel out of the state, working in all different types of locations. 

What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?

My advice for anyone feeling like they would like to pursue a career in the culinary field is to not be afraid. Just take that first step and do it. Just be happy and ready to learn. 

What are some of your other hobbies outside of cooking?

Some of my hobbies outside of cooking are staying healthy and fit. I enjoy going to the gym and watching sports
