What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking?
My father was the cook for the house, and I grew an interested while watching him cook and then tasting the magic he created. I wanted to do the same.
Describe the moment when you decided that you wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.
Watching my father in the restaurant we owned. He was prepping, cooking and serving. Seeing that he can do all of that, I felt obligated to be a part of it and I ended up loving my choice.
What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to purse your career in the culinary field?
Battling anxiety and making sure all of the moving parts are in order for the job to be completed properly and with efficiency.
How have friends and family reacted to your career choice?
They knew the business, and were worried about the number of hours I’d be putting in. But overall very proud of my choice.
What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?
Comradery and self-assurance. The ability to make quality friendships as well as figuring out, I should have no worries about my abilities.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Italian sausage.
What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?
The magic created from the start. The ability to see different operations and learn from different chefs who have been taught from countries all over the world. Being part of a team capable and excited to make a change to the industry.
What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?
Be aware of the expectations. Time, energy and commitment to the industry.
