What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking? 

I became interested in cooking when I joined the culinary arts program at my high school. I pursued the trade because it brought joy to my life.

Describe the moment when you decided that you wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.

In high school, I took a 3-day culinary training course. I was only 14 at the time, but that was when I decided i wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.

What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to pursue your career in the culinary field? 

Per the advice of my adoptive mother, I went to a 4-year college to pursue a Bachelor’s in Human Development & Family Studies rather than trying to find a job in the culinary field.

How have friends and family reacted to your career choice?

My mom seems happy that I have found a job that give me plenty of hours.

What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?

I love being on my feet, working in a high energy environment, and always having enough tasks to make the day go by quickly.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

My comfort foods are cheese. pizza and chicken alfredo.

What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?

I love having the opportunity to work in different locations and getting to experience a variety of different kitchens. It makes work fun

What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?

My advice would be to be prepared to have fun, Snapchef is a great place to work.

What are some of your other hobbies outside of cooking?

I enjoy talking with my mom, paying bills, and going to the gym when I am able to.
