Snapchef, a leading recruitment, training and staffing provider for the foodservice industry, is making its New Jersey debut.

Located at 652 Bloomfield Ave., Suite 2 in Bloomfield, the new location is being franchised by Greg D’Angelo, a hospitality industry veteran whose experience and familiarity with recruiting led him to pursue an opportunity with Snapchef.

Founded in 2002, the Boston-based company provides unique services to help solve the demand for qualified and vetted workers for commercial kitchens at universities, hospitals, hotels, entertainment venues, corporate cafeterias, sports arenas and other settings.

The company offers flexible temporary to permanent solutions, ranging from dishwashers to prep cooks to executive chefs, and ensures its employees are properly trained, allowing clients to focus on their kitchens and reducing staff turnover.

In addition to workforce and community development, Snapchef offers employees free “FastTrack” training, which prepares them for dynamic kitchen environments in just 20 hours.

Over the past two decades, Snapchef said it has worked with over 700 clients, trained more than 1,000 students and helped fill 750,000 kitchen staffer shifts.

In 2022, the company rolled out franchising as part of an effort to expand its model outside of Massachusetts. Since then, Snapchef locations have been launched in Columbus, Ohio and Providence, R.I.

While D’Angelo said he wasn’t “actively looking to start a franchise,” a conversation with Snapchef’s franchise operations team at an expo changed his mind.

“The vision of this company – training people for a new career in the hospitality industry and providing a solution for understaffed kitchens – is an accomplishment I want to be a part of. It is a win-win service for both our employees and customers,” he said.

Snapchef co-founder and CEO Todd Snopkowski said, “Getting to know Greg, along with his experience in IT staffing and startup businesses in and around the Bloomfield, N.J. markets, makes him a great addition to the Snapchef Franchise team.”

He added, “The Snapchef business model has a proven track record of success in New England, so it is really rewarding to see another franchise open and flourish outside the region. New Jersey, here we come.”
