What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking?
Once I graduated from high school, I began working in a restaurant and that is where I became interested in cooking.
Describe the moment when you decided that you wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.
One day, the restaurant I was working in was short staffed, so I was able to fill in as a prep cook. This allowed me to gain skills in the kitchen while making some money. I later found out that I enjoyed cooking and began to pursue it as a career.
What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to pursue your career in the culinary field?
Throughout my career, I have had to go through some personal trials and tribulations.
How have friends and family reacted to your career choice?
They have always supported my choices and have wanted me to follow my passions within the culinary field.
What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?
I like that no matter what there is to be done, I can always learn something new. This keeps me busy and focused on my work. I also love meeting new people and working in different kitchens.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
This is easy, my favorite comfort food is Mac and Cheese!
What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?
I love the flexibility with my schedule here at Snapchef. I also love to work in new environments.
What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?
Try your best and go to school. Always understand that sometimes things change and it is all about how you deal with it.
What are some of your other hobbies outside of cooking?
Besides cooking, I love to watch sports and spend time with my loved ones.
