When a Corporate Chef teams up with a Celebrity Chef to Cook Up Change, They Didn’t Expect to See These Results

(June 14th, Boston) – Boston continues to experience an era of culinary innovation. Today, Todd Snopkowski – CEO and founder of Snapchef Culinary Staffing and 2015 Small Business Person of the Year – has announced a joint venture with acclaimed chef Tony Ambrose, founder of Ambrosia Events and Catering. This exciting partnership will combine forces to provide advanced skills jobs for local community members, while also serving up a new type of catering experience for events across New England.

Chef Ambrose will be joining the Snapchef team as the company’s Senior Culinary Advisor. In this new role, Chef Ambrose will assist in building upon Snapchef’s unique Fast Track Culinary workforce development apprentice program, as well as its “Earn and Learn” Fast Track Culinary curriculum.

Known for his adventurous cuisine, Chef Ambrose has developed a reputation as a Boston culinary icon over the past twenty years. Before becoming the executive chef of Season’s restaurant at the Bostonian Hotel, Chef Ambrose became the first American chef de cuisine for the premiere dining room, Julien, at the Hotel Meridien. Throughout his career, he also has had the privilege of working under chef Jasper White as well as two-star French Michelin chef, Olivier Roellinger.

Expanding further upon his culinary achievements, Chef Ambrose became the fourth chef employed by the Bostonian who would go on to open his own successful restaurant, Ambrosia on Huntington, in 1993. He then went on to open a second restaurant, the Blackfin Chophouse and Raw Bar, and most recently in May 2016, he opened the Blu Mussel Tavern in Cohasset, Massachusetts.

Currently, Chef Ambrose focuses on his catering business, Ambrosia Events and Catering, which combines a fine dining technique with stylish cuisine for private and social events, ranging from weddings to corporate parties.

In addition to sharing a love for food, Chef Ambrose also shares Todd’s vision of creating a positive social impact and empowering individuals to launch a culinary career. Together with Snapchef, Chef Ambrose hopes to provide aspiring chefs with hands-on experience and the necessary skills to succeed in the culinary industry. Through his collaboration with Snapchef, Chef Ambrose hopes to train individuals to become motivated, qualified culinary professionals, while at the same time meeting professional staffing needs and strengthening workforce development in the culinary sector.

“When I learned more about Snapchef and its culinary job training program, I wanted to see how I could provide further help. By working with Snapchef, I hope to mentor aspiring cooks and provide them with the culinary skills and expertise to be successful in an industry where there is a growing demand for foodservice professionals,” said Chef Anthony Ambrose.

Through its own reach and ability, Snapchef has been responding to the acute shortage of qualified culinary workers throughout the region. The company currently employees more than 1,400 staff, and places between 200-500 Snapchefs per week, on a temporary basis, to a range of food service establishments, including restaurants, caterers, hospitals, universities, sports stadiums, corporate cafeterias, and more.
