Ancient Bakers Teams Up with Snapchef

Tonya Johnson is CEO and founder of Ancient Bakers in Boston.  Due to her 15 month old son’s food related ill health she began to study and search out plant-based products that had retained their original properties unlike many of the products of “the Western Standard American Diet”.   Seeing the success first hand using these foods Tonya and family started The Ancient Bakers with a mission to educate and bake healthy yummy breads and cookies from these “ancient grains.”

Ancient Bakers, being a certified minority woman owned business, overcame many obstacles to finally open their store at 23 Bradston Street in Boston. With a robust catalogue and store business she ventured into a contract to conduct food service to Otis Air National Guard Base in Buzzards Bay.  She then turned to her friends at Snapchef Culinary Training and Staffing to get the crew , the ServSafe training and complete the documentation process.  Tony and Richard just completed the first year of the commitment and Snapchef was there every step of the way supported by our Providence office. Although the concept is about pre-industrialized foods, aka “ancient” it turns out Ancient Bakers is cutting edge in terms of people’s desire to eat healthy!
