Culinary Staffing Leader Plans to Hire Immediately
Springfield – April 10, 2017— Snapchef, the leading culinary training and staffing company in New England, announced that it has opened its first office in the City of Springfield. The office, located at 174 Worthington Street, will serve as an administrative and hiring center for Snapchef culinary professionals and represents Snapchef’s initial expansion into Western New England.
Snapchef expects to leverage this initial expansion to Springfield to spur hiring plans in the region and build new culinary partnerships. The growing culinary business selected the downtown Springfield location for its proximity to the region’s workforce and access to public transportation. Snapchef worked in collaboration with City of Springfield and Laura Masulis from Mass Development to find the best location.
“I am deeply appreciative of SnapChef’s belief and investment in our Springfield. They bring unique and creative options towards our workforce development aspects.” said Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno.
Snapchef is committed to combating the culinary industry’s shrinking labor pool by providing culinary job opportunities to individuals throughout New England. According to the National Restaurant Association, 38 percent of restaurant operators said “recruiting and retaining employees” is the number-one challenge currently facing their business. The demand for permanent, senior level foodservice professionals in New England is at an all-time high.
“Downtown Springfield provides Snapchef with a centralized location that will help our company increase its ability to attract talent and serve clientele. Our close work with the City of Springfield, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, and legislative leaders made the expansion into Springfield an easy decision. We appreciate the support that Snapchef has received during this expansion from the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Western Massachusetts Economic Development Council, and Develop Springfield” said Snapchef CEO, Todd Snopkowski.
Snapchef’s experienced staff and extensive industry network is used to recruit top culinary talent for the most reputable food service operators in the region. Snapchef Permanently expands upon the company’s proven track record of providing premier culinary talent to its clients by offering permanent talent placement. Snapchef trains culinary staff for temporary and permanent job placement throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island by ensuring each staff member has the proper skill set to assist any culinary environment. Snapchef employees are trained through ServSafe certified food preparation and handling along with work place safety training to serve a wide range of clients.
Snapchef employees are trained through the Snapchef Fast Track Curriculum (FTC) and placed into work based learning with major universities, hospitals and five-star restaurants. Last year alone, Snapchef was responsible for providing over 13000 people with jobs in Massachusetts’ culinary industry, a feat that earned their CEO, Todd Snopkowski, the SBA Award for Massachusetts Small Business Person of the Year in 2015.
