What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking?
Seeing my grandmother cooking. Being around her during the large family gatherings. Tasting her food, planted the seed to my culinary career.
What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to purse your career in the culinary field?
When I started I was never very out spoken. I never asked for help and I put a lot of pressure on myself. Slowly through the years I realized that a kitchen is a team. And that we all help each other.
How have friends and family reacted to your career choice? What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?
They love it. They always want to challenge my cooking skill and taste my food. I never knew I had so many food critics in my family until I started cooking!
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Believe it or not I love to eat grilled cheese sandwiches. I always reminds me how happy it made me as a child to eat them on a cold winter day.
What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?
I love the fact that I can go to multiple kitchens every month. It keeps things fresh and I learn different things from different kitchens.
What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?
That cooking is not a job, it’s a passion. Do it for the love of food not for the glory or the money.
