What experience in your life led to you interested in food and cooking?
I came from a family of hunters and gathers. Being a vegetarian has forced me to look outside the book and become more creative with meal choices.
Describe the moment when you decided that you wanted to pursue a career in the culinary field.
For me there wasn’t a moment, I just LOVE food. I like the feeling I get when I share meals with others, and this makes me want to grow as a cook.
What challenges have you faced – and what obstacles have you had to overcome – to purse your career in the culinary field?
Life is a roller coaster and there are constant challenges and rewards. With persistence we can succeed in any field.
How have friends and family reacted to your career choice?
They are supportive and positive, especially when I put together new ideas, and have them try it!
What do you like most about working in a professional kitchen?
I am always learning, everyday I go to work. I learn a new technique and I save time and expand my knowledge.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Currently it is avocado toast with an egg on top. Subject for change at any moment.
What is your favorite thing about working at Snapchef?
Diversity in all aspects. The people I work with along with the places that I have worked. This is an amazing opportunity for growth.
What is your advice to those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary field?
Buy good shoes, and be prepared to switch tasks on the fly.
